The 5th Edition took place in London between the 18th and 27th of August. The most “juicy” international occasion for players that enjoy playing many different boardgames; in 10 days there were more than 100 tournaments of 50 different kinds of games and mental challenges, from chess to mental calculation, from backgammon to master mind, from go to the IQ tests. Last year Italy took part in it with an “official team”, obtaining a quite good number of medals. This year Italy participated with single players. These Olympic games really generated an international movement. Attention toward games is slowly increasing, even though it is still far away from the one given to “sport” games. There are even some local little olympiads in other countries; after Tokio, Singapore and Praga, between the 6th and 9th of December it will be time for the “Giochi Sforzeschi” in Italy, Milano.
