10 April 2020: considering the coronavirus health emergency, we decided to reopen the terms of the competition. The deadline for REGISTERING and sending us the prototypes is extended to the 31st of October, 2020 and the final ceremony is postponed to a future date in 2021, which is yet to be defined.
April 2020: Issue 25 of the prestigious magazine Ludica. Annals of the history and culture of games edited by Fondazione Benetton Studi Riceche / Viella.
This issue also contains, among others, a review by Federico Colovini and Dario De Toffoli, of the volume Le Jeu de rôle sur table, un laboratoire de l'imaginaire, edited by Danièle André and Alban Quadrat.
5 March 2020: also this year the Musée Suisse du Jeu (Suiss Museum of games) organized an exhibition dedicated to the Premio Archimede’s games. The awarded prototypes are shown as well as some games of the previous editions which in the meantime have been published.
10 February 2020: Playing Season awards the best board games of the last year in Portugal. Sixteen categories with votes from the public and from expert jurors. Between the international titles there is Leo goes to the barber by Leo Colovini, winner in the "Kids" category and distributed in Portugal by Devir, that won also the prize "Game distributor of the year".
February 2020: the Benetton Foundation announces the Gaetano Cozzi 2020 Prize for unpublished essays on the history of game. The competition is dedicated to young scholars born after 1984. All the essays have to be submitted to the Foundation within March 15, 2020, and the winning works will be published in the specialized magazine Ludica. Annali di storia e civiltà del gioco.
Nuremberg, January 2020: 6 games by studiogiochi have been presented at Spielwarenmesse 2020... and of course the usual exaggeration of meetings, presentations and, of course, celebrations.
28 January 2020: Kangourou Italia, together with studiogiochi, the City of Venice and local Hard Rock Cafe,
took mathematical games to Venice. Kangourou mathematic contest involved 12 teams of students from high schools of the Veneto Region.
October 2019: we welcome three new publishers have become Premio Archimede partners, and their editors that will be part of the final jury: CMON (Singapore) with Andrea Chiarvesio, MANDOO (Corea del Sud) with Kevin Kichan Kim, RIO GRANDE (Usa) with Jay Tummelson.
31 October 2019: this year more than 200,000 visitors at the Spiel fair of Essen, 1,500 new games presented, 1,200 exhibitors. A lot of gaming and a lot of Italy too!
